Sign on 2016/17

The Narangba Demons Baseball Club Committee are pleased to announce the fees for the 2016/17 season. We have been working hard behind the scenes to find the best balance between helping our club prosper and keeping the fees as low as possible for our members.

Baseball Queensland and Baseball Australia are yet to announce their fees on top of this, but I am told it will be announced in the near future.

Among our many new incentives this year we have:

EVERY player with their fees paid in full will receive a new hat at the first game of the season. We have a new design for club hats that we are offering to members upon fee payment.

Under 20 and Senior players having a freshen up with uniforms. If they pay half their fees by the end of play on Saturday the 30th of July, they will receive these new uniforms for free. This will be occurring for this season only. We will look into Juniors for next season. This offer is occurring so that existing members don't feel like they are buying a uniform for a club they already play for and the club gets at least half the fees up front. WIN/WIN!

Refer-a-friend program: If an existing player refers a new player to the club, BOTH players will receive $50 off their fees.

Volunteer levy: These fees INCLUDE a $50 volunteer levy which means that after you pay this fee you can be reimbursed at activities such as working bees, umpiring or scoring. This way you get paid to help your club grow and develop!

The following are the club fees for the season:

BQ and BA Fees Club Fees for 2015-16
Seniors ? $400.00
U20 / Seniors ? $400.00
U20 ? $300.00
LL Seniors ? $300.00
LL Juniors ? $300.00
LL ? $275.00
Rball ? $250.00

***FINALS TIMES AND VENUES ANNOUNCED***

It all starts on Saturday for our Under 20s div 1 in their quest for back to back titles, with a 3:00pm game at Redlands against Minor Premiers Redlands Devil Rays. With 3 of the boys no longer having Major A grade games for Padres, they are sure to come out fresh and ready to go.

On Sunday, our Pacific C North ladder leaders take on Beenleigh from the Southside of the comp in what will be an interesting encounter as the teams haven't played each other this year. They play at Narangba at 8:30am.

Later on Sunday, the Pacific A grade boys take on Wests for the final time this year. Narangba lead the season series 2-1, including a win last weekend over the last year Major A grade club. The game is at 1pm at Wests.

With a Grand Final spot on the line for all 3 of these teams, they could use as much support as possible. Put on your best Green and Navy Blue Demons outfit and help support our club!

NARANGBA "SENIORS' LOOK TO KEEP IT ROLLING.

Narangba's 3 Senior teams look to keep it rolling this weekend, with all 3 teams undefeated after a month of Senior baseball and 3 weeks gone for our U20s. The under 20s have used a strong backbone of pitching by Dermot Fritsch, Carter Bell and Dallas Wakefield, having conceded only 4 runs in their 3 games so far, together with their offense which has scored 21 runs thus far. The U20s have a local derby this Saturday at Redcliffe against Padres at 3pm, get down and support them if you can. Our PAC C team stands at 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 BYE after 4 weeks. Brett Ubergang, Dave Chalkley and Brent Julian handling responsibility on the mound so far, with the majority of the team swinging the bat well. PAC C have an 8:30 game at home against Southern Stars on Sunday. PAC A are 4-0 and have used a number of pitchers including Caleb Timmins, Callum Fritsch, Ryan Fritsch, Josh Irving and Aaron Lister. Having multiple options to pitch is a good headache to have for coach Steve, being able to rotate on a week-to-week basis or to not show certain pitchers to certain teams until later in the season. Other teams certainly do not have this luxury. PAC A also have a home game, against Wests Black at 10:45. Get down and support any team whenever you can!

Results known for week ending 11/10/15

This weekend saw the start on the Junior fixtures around Brisbane. Our Teeball and Rookie ball teams started us out on Saturday morning and with a lot of kids having not played before, all enjoyed themselves. Our under 12/1 and U14/2 combined Demons / Rapids teams both picked up wins against Padres Red and Windsor Braves respectively. Our combined U16/2 lost 15-8 to Beenleigh while our U20s had a strong 11-0 win over Carina. In seniors, our PAC C team had the BYE while our PAC A/B team had a comprehensive 17-0 win in 5 innings over Royals. The club will look to continue its success this weekend in all grades, come on down and support our club!

Introducing Our New Senior Head Coach

Narangba Demons have a new Senior Head Coach for the 2015/16 Season, long time player and Coach, Steve Mclaughlin. Steve has been playing baseball for over 28 years as well as having played over 250 Major A Grade games for the club boasting a career batting average over .300. Steve primarily played Centrefield, as well as Pitching with the club and countless representative teams including Victoria, Victoria Provincial, Melbourne Monarchs, Georgia Southern Uni and Australia. Steve's short term goal is for our Senior teams to compete and develop at the levels available for us to play at, as well as developing a bridge between our Junior and Senior teams and players. Steve's Long term goal is for the Club to return to the Majors, with the help of the clubs' talented Juniors and Compete with the "Bigger" clubs on a week in - week out basis in the not-to-distant future. The Seniors' season starts this weekend with a home game against fellow Brisbane North Club Pine Rivers and Steve will be looking to get off to a flying start.

We're counting down to our Sign-on day which will be held at Narangba Clubhouse on:

Saturday the 8th of August.

From 10.00am - 2.00pm.

We'd really like to have a constant game of baseball going on during
sign-on, especially for people who are interested in coming down and having a try.

If we can have volunteers to ensure the smooth and successful running of
sign-on, this would be greatly appreciated!

Players, if you can get down for an hour or two to help out and assist with
come and try players, this would be awesome!

Drinks and a sausage sizzle provided!
Let's all rally for our club and bring it!
Thanks all.
